Hey all!

Well, I'm finally rested and recovered from my 2 and a bit week holiday to the motherland, Chile. Man, it was a short trip - but intense and full of laughter and good fun. My wife and I decided to do a surprise trip to see my family and catch up with my parents who were also there on holiday.

Chile (and mostly a town named Quintero) is such a different world to Brisbane, Australia. I also managed to squeeze a 6hr trip up north to Coquimbo, to see some relatives I'd never met before, and it was fantastic! Cousins where cool and we had so many similarities in many things even tho we'd never met, let alone grown up together.

My family is mostly concentrated on my Mum's side, but this time my parents went to reconnect with siblings and relatives on my Dad's side. Thats why we went north. Was great, and I can't wait to see them again.

Thats another thing, my Uncles and Aunties, some young, some old - are such a world away and it's easy to forget their daily lives and way of living. It's sometimes painful to see their situations and lot in life - but indescribable the loyalty and happiness they have amongst the family.

It puts me to shame with how hard they work just to make a living and get by and still find time and money to have awesome parties, big bbq's and lotsa cuban rum!

U also wonder if thats the last time u will see them, so you always make your goodbyes count, and thats pretty painful sometimes.

Anyways, all in all - it was so worth the 18ish hours of travel each way and flea bites and some occasional gastro
